To All the Family...

We've known Frank for years and were deeply sadden to hear of his passing. I can remember to when I first started playing music, Frank was at all the festivals. I know all the years I worked with Wendy Smith and Blue Velvet, it seemed like Frank was at the majority of the shows.

My Mother-Sadie and Aunt-Ada Yates- looked forward to seeing Frank during the years my uncle-Jerry Yates- ran the Charlotte and Milan Bluegrass Festivals. Frank would come in with a load of Strawberries or Cherries and they would have hot biscuits waiting for him.

He'll always be remembered as a true friend. Our prayers go out to you and may God Bless you all!

Sincerely,

Bryan Stidham-Troy,MI.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and extended “family member” Frank Burns.  He was a true friend, and he always had a joke or story to tell you.  He was a faithful attendee, critic and listener to a local Bluegrass band Lonesome Journey, he will be missed at the Thursday night practice sessions.  You were only a stranger once to Frank and we will miss him greatly and treasure the memories that he left with all of us.

Our thoughts and sympathy go out to Jodi and the family.

Jodi, Bill and I extend our sympathy to you and your entire family.  We looked forward to seeing Frank and visiting with him at all the festivals, and we will miss him, things just won't be the same without him.  One of our favorite memories is Frank selling wood.  Here is a picture of Frank with our grandson Noah at Wendy's in 2003.  We will keep you in our prayers.

Blessings,

Uncle Frank is the guy we all warn our children about...watch out for the man who offers you candy!  He loved kids and it seems like he had an endless supply of candy to bribe the littles with!  And, the jokes, were absolutely priceless and endless!

Uncle Frank will be missed dearly!

Love always,

Jodi,

Our prayers go out to you and your family. Frank was one of the first people I met when I moved north in 1979, you both have been friends ever since. He will be greatly missed at the festivals and music events across the state. He was a great supporter of our music and we will all miss the hundreds of jokes he always had.

My god bless you both

Dear Jodi and family,

I just found out about Frank today and we are deeply sorry for your loss.  What a great guy he was.  Always ready to help in any way and always had a good joke.  He was also a good friend that was a very loyal follower of the R&L Bluegrass Express for many years.  I always looked forward to Whispering Winds because I knew we would see Frank and you, Jodi.  PLease accept our heart felt condolences.

He was loved by all who crossed paths with him. He never met a stranger. We will miss his bringing fruits and fire wood and especially his story telling. Frank would always have the time to sit a spell and visit with you and try to get a laugh or two out of you.
He will be missed by many.
You are in a better place my man. We will join you someday, that is God's promise.
