Cousineau, Leon F.

 

Leon F. Cousineau, age 86 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 at his home. Leon was born on July 22, 1923 in Home Township, north eastern Newaygo County to Fred and Hettie (Schermerhorn) Cousineau and has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 60 years.  Leon joined the United States Army and served in the European Theatre during World War II.  On March 5, 1970 he married Pauleen Plantiko in Fremont.  Leon had owned and operated Fremont Radiator and Fremont Auto Body Unlimited for several years until his retirement.  Leon was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and reading.

 

Leon is survived by his wife, Pauleen of Fremont; his children, Michelle (Forrest) Morrill of Hudson, Wisconsin; Denise (Jim) Dahl of Hudson, Wisconsin; Barb (Ted) Clark of Fremont; Susan (Ron) Frens of Fremont; Dale Sackett of Fremont; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his brother, Wesley Cousineau of Big Rapids; his niece, Joyce (Chuck) Zimmerman.  Leon was preceded in death by his son, Larry Cousineau and by several brothers and sisters.

 

VISITATION : Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 10-12pm at the Holton United Methodist Church.  FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday at 12pm at the Holton United Methodist Church.  MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Holton United Methodist Church.  Friends may send a condolence or share a memory with the Cousineau family online at www.crandellfh.com.
