James G. Elliott, age 78 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 1997 at his home following a lingering illness.  He was born on June 29, 1918 in White Cloud to Leo and Ethel (Middleton) Elliott and married LaVon Bush on January 18, 1947 in Coloma, Michigan.  He has been a resident of the White Cloud are most of his life where he was a supervisor for the Briggs Lumber Company until his retirement.  He was a member of the Bible Believers Fellowship Church in Mesick  and also a member of the White Cloud V.F.W. Post #2053.  He had served in the United States Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, LaVon of White Cloud; 3 sons, Kenneth J. (Sharayne) Elliott of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; Raymond (Rebecca) Elliott of White Cloud; Robert L. Elliott of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Evelyn (Carl) Hult of White Cloud; 1 brother, George (Natalie) Elliott of Fremont.
