Maat, June (Wolfsen-Deeds)

 

June (Wolfsen-Deeds) Maat, age 91 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 05, 2009 at the Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon.  June was born on May 10, 1918 in Muskegon to Guy and Ethel (Morningstar) Webster.  June met and later married Richard Wolfsen on October 22, 1937 and he preceded her in death.  She later married Charles Deeds and he preceded her in death and married Ed Maat who also preceded her in death.  June has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she had been a secretary and accountant at Fremont Farm Equipment and The Power Shop in Fremont from 1945 to 1976 when she retired.  June was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church and the Red Hat Society.  June enjoyed quilting, fishing, gardening and riding her tractor.

 

June is survived by her children, R. Wayne (Sharon) Wolfsen of Fremont; Peggy (Charles) Benham of Bitely; her son-in-law, Arthur DeMars of Holton; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; step son, Tony (Jenny) Deeds; numerous nieces and nephews; several step children, step grand and great grandchildren.  June was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Wolfsen, Charles Deeds, and Ed Maat; her daughters, Barbara DeMars and Dixie Goulette; her granddaughter, Renee Wolfsen; her brother, Wayne Webster.

 

VISITATION : Monday, June 8, 2009 from 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel and Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 12-1pm at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont.  FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 1pm at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont.  INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery.  MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund  Friends may also send a condolence or share a memory with the family online at www.crandellfh.com.
