WE MISS YOU
It broke our hearts to lose you, but
You didn’t go alone.
Part of us went with you the day
God took you home.
If tears could build a stairway and
Heartaches make a lane, we’d walk a
Path to heaven to be with you again.
When you come to the edge of all the light that you know and about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen—there will be something solid to stand on or we will be taught to fly.
When I must leave you
For a little while,
Please do not grieve
And shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow
To you through the years,
But start out bravely
With a gallant smile;
And for my sake
And in my name
Live on and do
All the things the same,
Feed not your loneliness
On empty days,
But fill each waking hour
in useful ways,
Reach out your hand
In comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort
You and hold you near;
And never, never
Be afraid to die,
For I am waiting
for you in the sky.
