Marshall L. Wilkinson, age 84 of Bitely, passed away Wednesday morning, March 1, 1995 at his home. He was born on October 9, 1910 in Troy Township to Cecil and Bertha (Shaddock) Wilkinson and married Letha Peterson on July 8, 1944 in Baldwin. He has been a lifelong resident of the Bitely area where he served as Lilley Township Supervisor for 18 years and served as Newaygo County Commissioner for 12 years from 1956-1988. He had also been active in the conservation club.
He is survived by his wife, Letha of Bitely; 14 children, Cecil (Norma) Wilkinson of Bitely; Cal (Debra) Wilkinson of Bitely; Lola Paquette of Florida; Robert (Shirley) Wilkinson of upper Michigan; Darold (Francis) Wilkinson of Bitely; Marva (Larry) Scherer of Oregon; Daniel (Yvonne) Wilkinson of Bitely; Ila (Ronald) Fullerton Sr. of Bitely; Sharlene (Clarence) Rothig of Luther; Herbert (Florence) Wilkinson of Baldwin; Terry (Carol) Wilkinson of Bitely; Aloha (Charles) Burkett of Big Rapids; Donald Wilkinson of Bitely; Pamela (Gregory) Fullerton of Luther; 58 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mertal (William) Gleason of Fremont; Linda Champion of Montana. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Loyal Wilkinson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 4, 1995 from the Bitely Community Church with Rev. Robert Collins officiating with interment in the Troy Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud.
